Deploying can be a scary thing.  I have served for 16 years so far and have been deployed four times.  Three of the deployments happened before I reached eight years of service.  Was I scared? 

You have already made one of the biggest decisions in your life. But are you really ready for what you signed up for? If you are, then great! But for those of you aren’t, here’s some tips to get you off to a good start.

Going off to Basic Military Training is going to be like being on a roller coaster. On the way there you may feel excited at first, then that anxiety is going to hit, then the fear of the unknown and finally a slight sadness because you will be out of pocket for the next 8 weeks. But fear not, you will be alright as long as you can follow simple instructions and be a team player.

This post is to give an idea of the process of joining the military. It is not all encompassing. It will reference a lot of Air Force lingo because that is the branch, I am more knowledgeable on. However, the processes for all branches are very similar but with different verbiage.
